Analysis activity
The purpose of this phase is to identify and size the physical and organizational ties that bind the production with the warehouse and shipping logistics, the ergonomic design of the areas and the integration of information systems. In this perspective, the analysis is extended to:
- Definition of basic data (flows, materials, etc …).
- Flows and type of materials to be handled, taking into account future increases.
- Data structures and procedures for the management of the information system.
- Issues of identification and products management.
- Logic and volumes of distribution both current and short-medium-long term.
This phase will be carried out mainly at the customer’s plant.
Solution processing activity
This activity is mainly aimed at the production of:
- Identification of storage areas and handling of materials between areas.
- Defining the modalities of identification of the finished product.
- Definition of the structure of the warehouse and the type of systems changes.
- Identification of the operating procedures to be adopted.
- Defining of positioning and interface with the warehouse.
- Definition of the computer system architecture.
- Proposal of the machines to be used.
- Assessment of advantages and limitations of the solution.
- Evaluation of the organizational impacts resulting from the implementation of the project.
- Assessing the integration in the civil structure following the implementation of the project.
The final product, including detailed layouts, can be treated as a document of the User Requirements of the area interest in the project.
At the same time, once defined jointly the optimal solution, we will carry out an economic evaluation of the entire system, including any variations/additions which can then be considered.
